7 Art Accounts You Must Follow on Instagram

I f*cking love Instagram. I’ve had the app practically since it’s inception and now spend multiple hours a day scrolling and double tapping. I’d say the past 9 years I’ve accumulated a pretty interesting following list, including some of the coolest art you’ve never seen before. I love discovering new artists, styles of art, things I know I would never have even thought of, without Instagram.

Below are 7 of my favorite artist accounts on Instagram, I hope you enjoy their feeds as much as I do.

@mr.babies

Mr.Babies was the first real art account I followed on Instagram. He creates unique, psychedelic collages from iconic, vintage looking images often featuring Jesus, the moon, and that sweet Mary Jane. Some have a theme like nature and political satire while others simply make no sense other than being extraordinary. The extremely saturated colors and wild juxtaposition is what makes Mr.Babies art so unique, and true to him.

He sells prints of his work that I’m obsessed with, that you can purchase here.

Austin Call is the artist behind the project he calls duhrivative, a series of portraits made up of “digital illustration, collage, found imagery, photo manipulation and pop culture”. Besides posting on his Instagram, he has also created album artwork for Charlie, Short Round, Frank Ivy, and has been featured in Metal Magazine and Cover Magazine.

Austin does commissions and sells prints on his website! Follow to see your favorite celebrity beautifully manipulated by an incredible artist.

@voyeur1

Film photographer Brian Karlsson has one of my favorite Instagram pages, featuring the most random things he sees on the streets and subways of New York. Whether or not he’s actually a voyeur, Brian’s candid photos display the most interesting sightings in the most artistic ways. The angles and positions in which he takes his photos are what make them more than just simple street photography, they tell a story.

@odeandiefreude

Original artist is @chongiseok on Instagram

Odeandiefreude is a culmination of contemporary art by “womxn” on Earth, featuring varying art styles like photography, drawing, poetry by different artists. This page blends various interpretations of feminism and environmentalism, telling a beautiful story in each post. Some posts are quite scandalous, but the messages behind them are thought provoking and important.

@tenderboy_

Tattoo art is one of the most under appreciated art forms, which is why I include artist Jean Mou, aka tenderboy. He has taken himself around Europe by tattooing his obscure drawings on people, which are all unique and one of a kind. The word I would use to describe his tattoos would be trippy, as there doesn’t seem to be any other way to describe them.

@doan_ly

Doan Ly is a floral designer and photographer all about developing stunning, non-traditional floral images. Obviously their Instagram is stunning, but Doan Ly actually owns a.p.bio, an events and editorial studio in New York City. The richness in the colors and intricacy to the placement of the flowers is what makes Doan Ly stand apart from others.

Flowers seem to make everybody happy, and seeing these stunning arrangements on your feed may bring a smile to your face.

@clouds.say.hello

There’s nothing more peaceful than looking up at the clouds, and when the clouds say hello, its even more charming. Photographer Yuliani Noriega is based in Miami, Florida, where skies are brighter, more colorful, and seemingly full of clouds.

These photos are more than your standard sunset or sky picture, they breathe serenity and calmness through your high strung, dramatic newsfeed.
